Tools overview

Tool Description Usage
Multiple Find & Replace Search Word documents for multiple words and phrases and then replace or format their occurrences. Review each occurrence in context before changing the document. Use this tool:
  • to review documents for potential mistakes or style guide requirements
  • to make last-minute changes to Word documents already submitted to your customer or after they were exported from the CAT tool and then formatted
  • to change number, currency or date formats in a document
  • to format text the way you want
  • to color-highlight potential issues for manual review
  • to adapt text to a specific language dialect (e.g. convert between American English and British English)
  • to obfuscate document content, replacing letters with other letters
Hide / Unhide Text Hide non-translatable text from your CAT tool for selective translation of document contents or in order to convert pieces of non-translatable / placeholder text into tags / placeables. Use this tool:
  • to translate text added in a previously translated document
  • to create a dual-language document
  • to ignore specific parts of the document
  • to translate complex text-based formats containing non-translatable text
  • to hide sensitive parts of the document
Highlighting Tool Allows you to apply color highlighting to text that matches user-defined search expressions, clear color highlighting, or find color highlighting (in order to move from one highlighted fragment to the other). This versatile tool can be used for quality assurance, DTP / formatting, communication between document authors, to hide non-translatable text, etc. Use this tool:
  • to mark translatable or non-translatable text
  • to mark text that needs attention or further work, navigate between such text, or clear these marks
Find Selection command

Makes it easy to find the current editing location / selection in a Microsoft Word document. Use this tool:
  • to return to the current editing location within the active document
  • to find the editing location when it is difficult to find due to small font size, font color, etc.
