Installing TransTools for PowerPoint

PowerPoint

To install TransTools for PowerPoint, download the automatic installer or the manual installation zip package.

There are two ways to install the program:

  1. Automatically: run TransTools_Installer.exe and follow the installer instructions.
  2. Manually

After you complete the installation process:

  1. Enable (activate) TransTools for PowerPoint (not required if you use the Automatic Installer).

    Open Microsoft PowerPoint.

Open PowerPoint Options dialogue by clicking File tab (PowerPoint 2010+) or the large Microsoft Office icon in the top left corner (PowerPoint 2007), and then clicking Options menu at the bottom (PowerPoint 2010+) or PowerPoint Options button (PowerPoint 2007).

In PowerPoint Options dialogue, select "Add-Ins" from the list on the left.
At the bottom of the dialogue, you will see a list and a button as shown below. Select PowerPoint Add-ins from the list and click Go:

In the Add-Ins dialogue, you will see a list of available add-ins.
If TransTools is in the list, check it to activate it.
If TransTools is missing in the list, click Add New... and select TransTools.ppam from C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AddIns directory (this directory is opened by default when you click Add New button). If prompted with a security notification, click Enable Macros button. To finalize installation, click OK button.

Now, if you select Add-Ins tab at the top of Microsoft PowerPoint window, you should see "TransTools Add-In" group:

  2. Macro Security

If 'TransTools Add-in' group does not appear, your Macro Security settings are blocking the macros contained in the TransTools add-in. To change your Macro Security settings:

Open PowerPoint Options dialogue by clicking File tab (PowerPoint 2010+) or the large Microsoft Office icon in the top left corner (PowerPoint 2007), and then clicking Options menu at the bottom (PowerPoint 2010+) or PowerPoint Options button (PowerPoint 2007).

Select Trust Center from the list on the left and then click Trust Center Settings... to the right.

Select 'Add-ins' from the list on the left and make sure that 'Require Application Add-ins to be signed by Trusted Publisher' and 'Disable all Application Add-ins (may impair functionality' are NOT checked.

Now you should be able to use TransTools for PowerPoint from the ribbon.
